Exclusive Air Charters to the Caribbean: Spotlight on Jamaica

by Robert 27. March 2015

Can you here the tinkle of the ice cubes hitting the glass and the unmistakable sound of steel drums bouncing off of the swaying palm trees? There is also that smell of aromatic, tropical cuisine floating through the warm, salty air. Do you know where you are yet? Yes, it’s the popular Caribbean Island of Jamaica. Its 4,200-square miles make the tropical paradise literally one of the biggest destinations in the Caribbean, not to mention the Greater Antilles. Fly there with your group aboard exclusive air charters and experience it for yourselves.

Sip glasses of top-shelf, Jamaican rum in-flight and when you touch down, be sure to check out the island’s celebrated distilleries. On the list of “must stops” is Appleton Estates. They’ve been producing some of the finest amber rum this side of the equator since 1749. Take their rum tour and walk away with a beautiful, cork finished, wooden box filled with their best offerings.

Another stop to put on your group’s tour list is Blackwell Rum. It’s made by a family with deep ties to the island’s rum heritage and Jamaican reggae. Plus, their bottles look like something that Calico Jack and the other pirates would have carried around Port Royal in the 17th Century. You don’t get more authentic Caribbean than that my friends!

When you’re finished chasing down the world’s best rum, sample Jamaica’s best cuisine at places like Lyming at Walkerswood, Bloomfield Great House and Cardiff Hall. Then take in the island’s rich nightlife, including an after-hours reggae concert. It would pair perfectly with a trip to the Bob Marley Museum and music recording studio tours. You’ll typically find them on offer in the exciting City of Kingston.

Charter Big Planes and Celebrate the Holidays in Phoenix, Arizona

by Karen 13. November 2013

Situated in the Grand Canyon State is the 6th largest city in the country, Phoenix. Although it is a great place to visit year round, the winter months are particularly pleasurable. That’s because it’s the time of year when Arizona’s residents break out the holiday finery. With that in mind, you may want to charter big planes with us and celebrate the holidays in Phoenix.

One celebratory activity to enjoy while you’re there is the Annual Las Noches de Las Luminarias. It takes place all December long at the Desert Botanical Garden on North Galvin Parkway. During the annual event, the garden grounds are adorned with stunning luminaries. Live musical entertainment, festive bell ringers and onsite dining are typically on offer too. This year should be exceptionally wonderful because the facility will be commemorating its 75th anniversary at the same time.

Of course the Annual Las Noches de Las Luminarias won’t be the only winter event taking place in Phoenix. The Arizona Latino Arts & Cultural Center will be holding its Annual Christmas Celebration and Mercado as well. It’s a street fair type of event and typically takes place on Adams Street. Activities on offer include listening to live music, dancing, shopping for gifts and sampling ethnic cuisine.

There are also several places to go ice skating in Phoenix. They include the Desert Ridge Marketplace on North Tatum Boulevard and the CitySkate Holiday Ice Rink on East Washington Street. Both places offer ice skate rentals. Because it’s completely free, the marketplace site is the best place to go if you are hoping to save a few bucks. They tend to hold complimentary, holiday story hours at that location too. The CitySkate managers, on the other hand, generally charge a modest admission fee. However, there’s also a large holiday tree to gaze at and onsite refreshments available.

For more details on chartering big planes to enjoy the best of Phoenix’s winter offerings, please contact us. At Miami Air International, we have both 737-400s and 737-800s in our fleet. So we can accommodate groups up to 168 people on one plane.

Group Travel Idea: Visit Jamaica’s Coyaba River Gardens and More

by Karen 1. November 2013

Are you hoping to add the Greater Antilles to your group’s travel list this year? If that’s the case, consider chartering a private plane with us and heading for Jamaica. It is home to the Coyaba River Gardens and the Mahoe Falls.

The gardens are located south of Ocho Rios and encompass three serene acres. While your group walks the grounds, listen for the sound of falling water and the resident wildlife. If you are very observant, you may even hear the snapping turtles try and catch a quick meal. Be sure to stop by the manmade pond with the built-in window too. It will give your group an opportunity to watch the island’s koi carp and mullet fish go about their natural business.

The Coyaba River Gardens is not the only attraction onsite. The area is also home to Mahoe Falls. It is 100 feet tall and visitors are welcome to explore it several ways. Adventurous sorts may want to climb it with the aid of a guide. Others may prefer viewing its splendor from above. The viewing area is known as Ysassi Lookout Point. On a clear, Jamaica day, it offers access to some of the most memorable views. Among them are the pristine Caribbean Sea, the gardens and Ocho Rios.

After touring the water gardens and the falls, there is still much to enjoy, including the Arawak Museum. It features a charming Spanish courtyard, snack bar, gift shop and multiple exhibits. The exhibits contain artifacts from the island’s Taino period. It refers to a moment in time when the island was inhabited by members of the Taino tribe. They were a very interesting group of people that knew how to make fairly advanced products like pepper gas and rubber balls.

Of course the above is just a glimpse of the group travel opportunities that exist in Jamaica. To learn more about chartering a private plane to experience them firsthand, please contact us at (877) 535-9624. We are a FAA certified charter airline with a fleet of luxurious aircraft at our disposal.
